How does the process work?
In order to qualify, it is a must that your vehicle is leased. Typical leases range from 2 to 4 years. Capitalease does not work with financed or self-owned vehicles, although we are still happy to provide consultation in case that you need it.
After fulfilling our questionnaire, one of our agents will contact you to get more detailed information on your vehicle (i.e. current mileage, VIN number, overall vehicle conditions, etc.). After this first contact, your Capitalease agent will remain in touch with you and provide feedback on the lease termination options.
If you are happy with the solution proposed, your Capitalease agent will schedule a pick-up of your vehicle at the place you wish. The vehicle will be inspected at the moment to confirm that the overall conditions do not differ from the ones you reported originally. If everything is fine, the vehicle will be towed after you sign a Power of Attorney and Bill of Sale. At this point, you will receive 50% of the agreed upon profit in case that it applies.
Now sit back and relax! Approximately two/three weeks after the pick-up, you will receive the confirmation of the lease termination and the remaining 50% of the agreed upon profit. Don’t hesitate to contact your Capitalease agent during this period if you have any questions.
Finally, you will receive a closing pack at your address with all the documentation related to your lease termination.
How do I get paid?
Profit payoffs are normally processed via Zelle. If an alternative payment method is preferred, please indicate this to the Capitalease agent that is working on your deal. The payoff process consists on two stages:
- 50% of the agreed upon profit will be provided after the vehicle’s inspection and Bill of Sale signature.
- The remaining 50% will be sent upon receipt of the vehicle’s title by the financing company.
How long does the process take?
Normal lead times are:
- You will receive a lease end solution proposal within 24 working hours after the questionnaire is submitted.
- After agreeing to the solution provided, your lease end can be finalized (vehicle has been inspected, picked-up and first payment effective) within:
- Up to 2 business days if your vehicle is located in South Florida.
- Up to 7 business days if your vehicle is located elsewhere within the U.S.
- After finalizing your leased vehicle, the second payment will be received within 20 working days (upon receipt of vehicle’s title from the financing company).

Which states of the US does Capitalease operate in?
Capitalease operates in all of the United States except Puerto Rico (PR), Hawaii (HI) and Alaska (AK).

How does the referral process work?
Where can I find my vehicle’s VIN number?
The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is the vehicle ID and it can be found in:
- In the vehicle’s insurance card
- When facing your vehicle from the outside, in the bottom right corner of the windshield.
- Depending on the vehicle model, in the sticker located in the driver’s door post were the door latches when it’s closed.
Are there any costs associated to the service?
FREE quotes will be provided to all customers. Capitalease does not charge any costs when providing a $olution proposal or execution of such.
Where will my vehicle be inspected and picked-up?
Your vehicle will be inspected and picked-up at the location you choose.
